I’m an economist and policy advisor with more than two decades of experience working at the intersection of macroeconomics, public policy, and financial markets across the GCC, the wider MENA region, and internationally.
My core work has been focused on understanding how economies function at a system level; how fiscal and monetary policy, demographics, institutions, energy markets, and global financial conditions interact to shape long-term economic outcomes. I began my career in macroeconomic research and went on to serve in senior economist and research leadership roles, including as Head of Research and Lead Economist at one of Kuwait’s leading banks. In these roles, I advised decision-makers on regional economic strategy, oil market dynamics, public finances, banking systems, and regulatory developments during periods of both growth and crisis.
Over time, my work expanded beyond analysis into applied policy advisory. I have contributed to economic strategy development, reform agendas, and long-term planning initiatives, translating complex macroeconomic realities into practical frameworks that policymakers, institutions, and stakeholders can act on. A recurring theme in my work is the need to bridge rigorous economic thinking with institutional realities—moving from models and projections to implementable policy choices.
Alongside my policy and macroeconomic work, I have spent many years working closely with the investment and wealth advisory industry. This has given me a grounded, practical understanding of how macroeconomic forces ultimately filter down to portfolios, households, and individual decision-making. Rather than viewing finance in isolation, I see it as one layer within a broader economic system, shaped by policy choices, structural trends, and long-term risks. This perspective allows me to cut through market noise and focus on fundamentals.
Having lived and worked through multiple economic cycles and market dislocations, I bring a strong appreciation for uncertainty, resilience, and long-term thinking. These experiences inform my approach today: disciplined, data-driven, and skeptical of simple narratives or short-term fixes.
Today, my work centers on macroeconomic analysis, policy advisory, and strategic economic thinking—helping institutions, organizations, and individuals better understand the forces shaping their economic environment and make decisions with greater clarity and confidence.
In a world crowded with commentary and opinion, my aim is to offer something more durable: grounded analysis, clear thinking, and advice informed by real economic experience.
